This is the Disclosure page: how Wax+Wires discloses AI involvement and synthetic content, and what the receipt on each audio read means.
The posture: this site discloses AI involvement on every public page, in every location, as editorial policy, not because any one region's law requires it.
Audio reads: every recording carries a receipt naming what it is, who or what produced it, the source text, the date, who reviewed it, and who is accountable for it. A receipt is flagged visibly if the essay text has changed since the recording was made.
Essays: every essay carries a byline naming the human author and stating that AI assisted. A named person read every line and is responsible for it.
This page has no actions beyond following the links to the essays and the About page.
The posture
Wax+Wires discloses AI involvement and synthetic content on every public page, everywhere, as a matter of editorial policy. Not because one region's law requires it in one specific case. Disclosing everywhere means the question of exactly where a particular rule applies never has to be answered first: the disclosure already exists, regardless.
Audio reads
Every audio reading published on this site carries a receipt, shown directly beneath the player. It states six things: what the recording is (human-recorded or synthetic), who or what produced it, a link to the source text and its author, the date it was made, who reviewed it and when, and who is accountable for it.
If the essay text changes after a recording is made, that recording is marked stale on its receipt until it is either updated or confirmed to still match. A stale recording presented as current is exactly what this page exists to prevent.
As of this writing, every audio read on this site is a human recording, read by Micah Eberman. None are synthetic. If that changes, the receipt on the affected recording will say so.
Essays
Every essay carries a byline naming its human author and stating whether AI assisted in writing it. The byline is a statement of responsibility, not just process: the named person read every line and owns it, regardless of what tools helped produce a draft along the way.
What this page doesn't cover
This page covers public essays and their audio reads. It doesn't rule on which regions' regulations apply to this site, and it doesn't cover access verification for any password-protected area, which is handled separately.
